This is lovely work. I was also in Dedham at flatford mill.

Are there a landscape painter you can put in the’ naive school’ ? - plein air painters are not common at all in the UK. Mind you in Dedham there was a field study Centre that was teaching open air painting

Unsure as to any painters operating today who would be "naive" - Martin went to art school then taught art so he's anything but! I don't know Dedham - must see what part of Suffolk it is!

It's why we walk. I walked through old Denpasar last week, down canals where no Australian or Californian* influencer* ever goes and sat with old men and their roosters in the sunshine, watched gangsters play chess and drank too much coffee.

Wonderful story - and yes, the art mafia...
